8:00am–9:30am Anchorage to Whittier
Depart from 4902 Spenard Rd. Anchorage (across from the airport) and enjoy a beautiful ride down the Turnagain Arm in south Anchorage through Girdwood to one of the world’s most unique tunnels to Whittier. The Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel is bored 2.5 miles through a mountain which takes 6+ minutes to get to the other end. Experience the eye candy sights of Prince William Sound at the Whittier harbor then grab a snack and hit the potty then all aboard as we depart to Seward.
10:30am-12:30pm Whittier to Seward
Back through the tunnel and through the glacier filled mountains through Moose Pass to Seward. We will be stopping at locations on the way for pictures that you cannot get anywhere else. With limited time here you may want to grab a quick lunch then visit the Alaska Sea Life Center, Walk the beach of the beautiful Resurrection Bay, Hike the Exit Glacier, patronize local gift stores, visit the Seward Visitor Center or other activities of interest and meet back at the Alaska Sea Life Center at 4:00 for departure back to Anchorage
4:00pm-6:00pm Seward to Anchorage Buckle up and experience the picturesque drive north back to Anchorage. On the way back we will take turns sharing with others what we found and what we would see or do again or not. We will stop at the Sterling Highway “Y” for more pictures and then back to our original departure location in Anchorage.
